PermacultureWest has been invited by Conservation and Landcare to setup a sustainable living and demonstration food production oriented backyard to enlighten and inspire those looking to make lighter footprints on the earth. Working with EMRC we will be presenting talks/workshops daily every hour (9-4), and a visual and mental feast of sustainability, permaculture design and good ole fashion common sense ideas. See below for workshop timetables and backyard preliminary plans.
The 10th International Permaculture Conference (IPC 10) is about to begin in Jordan. While few of us have the opportunity to attend, like local permie Harry Wykman, they will be streaming the talks live and making them available for download later. This is great news for the rest of us!

Sue has been busy writing to the local newspapers and politicians following the Population talk with Mark O'Connor. There's also been some recent commentary by Dick Smith touching on food security.
PermacultureWest cleaned out the association trailer and display cobwebs and headed out West, well South West, to Balingup to be precise. Carting a 1956 12 frame bee honey frame extractor, in a wooden trailer just added to the fun and unusual trip to Balingup. I even just missed a roo something that hasn't happened in the last 10 years of driving down to Pemby.
An interesting radio interview on the Bush Telegraph program from Apr 5th that's worth listening to.
The population talk by Mark O'Connor went off without a hitch on Wednesday evening thanks to the hard work of Susan Hartley and the rest of the team. The talk was well attended with Mark giving a us all plenty to think about.
