Finding Permies

by admin last modified Feb 25, 2011 12:06 AM

A great way to get to know your fellow local permies is via Permaculture West events like Permablitz and Local Groups. However, perhaps you want to know what else is happening and where (world-wide), or there isn't a local group (yet!), or you want to collaborate with other permies in similar climate conditions, or just plain curious. Thanks to the hard work of the Permaculture Research Institute, we now have the Worldwide Permaculture Network to help put permies in touch with permies. Quoting from their website:

A shiny new and rapidly growing interactive database that’s showcasing the exciting, solutions-based work being implemented by permaculture projects and practitioners worldwide. If you’re getting depressed watching current events, this is the site to reinvigorate the mind with real, lasting, holistic solutions for all the problems humanity currently faces. Have a look around, be inspired, and if you’re a permaculture practitioner, be sure to register and upload your profile, add your project(s), and network with others to share inspiration, resources and support, and to advertise your services for a brave new economy.

This is a great resource but like any other people-network the value is in having critical mass of usage. So jump on board and register yourself.
