Who is the Fremantle Permaculture group?
Fremantle Permaculture group, aka Freo Permies, is for any interested permies and alternative minded folk South of the river, who like to get together and learn about all things permaculture and sustainable, plus have fun doing it. You don’t have to be a trained permaculturist to attend!
What are we up to?
We run regular workshops to inspire you including natural bee keeping, mushroom growing, plant propagation and seed saving etc. We work with local community groups to see how we can work together to improve local food security and increase the knowledge and skills in our community. Freo Permies run regular Permablitz events over the cooler months at each other’s houses. These events are very popular and are a great way to learn. We have active preserving, craft and home brewing sub groups.
How to get involved?
Freo Permies group meets at 6:30 pm on the last Wednesday evening of the month, and to keep it interesting we meet at each others houses to spur each other along with our own garden projects. It doesn’t cost anything to come along, just bring a smile and a few nibbles to share and you’ll be well on your way to maximising the yields of all your projects!
If you’d like to improve your gardening skills or to get involved in a project keep an eye out on our Facebook page. We are always looking for great people like you to help us at our Permablitz’s and share their skills and knowledge with some like-minded folk, and no contribution is too small or too big! No backyard (or front yard) is too big a project either.
We also have an active online community on our Freo Permies Facebook group where our community shares information so come say hi and learn about all things in the Freo Permie world.
